Packaging & Ingredients:

Aster & Bay is a modern apothecary run by a husband & wife team in Edinburgh, Scotland, and our products are distributed worldwide. We make everything with our own hands, with the highest-quality natural ingredients we can find. Small batch products ensure freshness and quality. 
We prefer to package our products in glass based on the belief that pure botanical elixirs should not be contained in synthetic [plastic] bottles. And although glass packaging makes shipping slightly more expensive, the glass apothecary bottles we use are both reusable and recyclable. 

The color, texture, and scent of our products reflect the original plant material and therefore may vary slightly from batch to batch. This is completely normal and we consider this to be part of the magic that comes with working with botanical ingredients.

We accept Paypal, Visa, Amex and Mastercard. 



December is a high volume month, so please allow up to 5 working days for your items to arrive, although most deliveries in the continental US will arrive sooner. The last day to order for delivery before Christmas is 12/20


Orders placed by our North American customers will ship from our warehouse in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Orders are processed and shipped Monday-Friday. If you place your order before 2 pm, your order will ship the same day, otherwise, orders will ship on the next working day.

US customers:
Orders are shipped with USPS First Class or Priority mail with delivery confirmation. You will receive a tracking number with your shipping confirmation. 

If your item is not received or is received damaged or opened, please speak with a Post Office representative right away. They can advise you on how to proceed. If the situation is not resolved, please contact us and send everything back. Photographic evidence is very helpful in these situations.

International Orders:

We will ship all international orders via US Postal Service International Mail with a tracking number, but packages cannot be tracked once they are outside the US. Please be aware of your own country's customs and tax regulations, as we cannot be responsible to any additional customs fees or damage incurred.

Once international orders are shipped, it may take up to a week for the tracking information to update, and up to six weeks to be delivered, depending on the country and customs process. 

Returns & Exchanges:

Orders can only be canceled or modified if they have not yet shipped.

Due to the handmade nature of our products, we cannot accept returns. However, if you are not completely satisfied with your product, please contact us right away, as we do offer exchanges, replacements, and returns for store credit. We want to make sure your experience is a great one!

Additional Policies and FAQ's:

Please be aware of any skin allergies you may have before using our products. If you have a history of sensitivities or allergies, it is a good idea to perform a skin test first. 

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your physician before using any products containing essential oils, as there are many herbs and essential oils that are not recommended for use by pregnant and nursing women, infants, and children.
